Flew into Bangor on our trip to Acadia this past fall and decided to try this place before driving to Bar Harbor. The service was very good and the view from the small dining room is incredible. The food was to die for. We had lobster rolls and crab rolls and also got fried oysters. The fries were also really good, we couldn't stop eating. Definitely will be back
While the meal was a bit of sticker shock initially, I don't think I have ever motorboated a lobster roll before. This was truly a "blink and you miss it" kind of place that the outside does no justice for the amazing food on the inside. Friendly staff, but very tight surroundings. Very limited seating but well worth the wait if you have to wait. Would bring people here should I travel back to Maine with others.
The seafood platter is huge and can definitely feed 2-3 people. The lobster roll was also really good and fries were good. Service was good and everyone was nice.
Ubered to here from the Bangor airport and it was worth the trip! I had the lobster roll and it came with crunchy delicious fries and coleslaw as well. The lobster roll ($31) was overflowing with lobster and was lightly flavored with sauce so you mainly taste the lobster itself. Service was great and they checked in on me a few times. The restaurant is small, but I got seated right away since I went around 4pm. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for a good lobster roll.
Had the all you can eat haddock, and let me tell you, they aren't kidding. Three huge pieces came with perfectly crispy fries, slaw and tartar sauce. That is simply the first round. Honestly, I love this run down fish shack. No frills, unless you count the cute lavender curtains, but OMG the food is so good. The fish was fresh tasting--the cleanest oil was used in the frying. Just pure heaven. The slaw was even good, and it's usually a perfunctory side. The view of the frozen river was spectacular, and just added to the ambiance. If you are looking for upscale, this is not the place, but if you are looking for unapologetic great fish, you have come to the right place.
